Challengers prides itself in offering unique, state-of-the-art supportive services to the at-risk and underserved youth living in Maryland's foster care system.  We have helped well over 400 teens over the past 18 years and expect this number to grow exponentially as regulations change and the landscape of the long-term foster care system shifts, leaving more teens and young adolecents without the love and support necessary to mature as independent, self-sufficient, highly functionable, and successful adults.  By utlizing a comprehensive, multi-tiered life skills and supportive services model, our team of counselors, social workers and clinicians are able to not only care for youth living in Maryland's foster care system and treat various clinical and emotional issues, but also prepare them for independence, a college education or vocational/trade skill, and ultimately a successful future.  

 

We strive to ensure that each Participant is physically and emotionally healthy, has a proper education, has established gainful employment, and has deposited a substantial amount of funds in their savings account prior to their emancipation; this, along with our life-skills training, provides them with the tools needed for the best chance at success, self-sufficiency and a happy, healthy and prosperous life after discharge.

 

  OUR PROGRAMS ARE SO SUCCESSFUL THAT WE ARE ACTUALLY APPROACHED BY PARENTS ASKING US TO ENROLL THEIR OWN TEENAGERS!
