BERT'S PLACE

A foster care facility offering a unique and successful prepatory program of comprehensive life skills training to boys between the ages of 15 to 18; this stage of the program provides them with the tools necessary to matriculate into a less restrictive living environment at Challengers Independent Living.

CHALLENGERS EAST

Located in East Baltimore, this program provides older adolescents ages 16 to 21 who are living in long-term foster care, with an opportunity to learn and practice independent life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

TEEN PARENT PROGRAM (CTPP)

Operating in various, private communities in Baltimore, CTPP offers life-skills training and support to foster care adolescents ages 16 to 21, who are either pregnant or have at least one child, by providing young women and their babies with the opportunity to live in a safe & supportive environment while receiving life-skills & proper parenting-skills training.  CTPP equips these young mothers with the tools and information necessary to become self-sufficent adults & suitable parents after discharge from foster care.

BERT'S PLACE TOO

Provides teens between the ages of 15 to 18 who are living in foster care, with comprehensive life skills services. Specifically, this location offers clinical and educational support, vocational training, independent life skills training and home-life support services, in a safe and nurturing environment.

CHALLENGERS WEST

Located in West Baltimore, this program provides older adolescents ages 16 to 21 who are living in long-term foster care, with an opportunity to learn and practice independent life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

RESOURCE CENTER (CRC)

The center provides supportive services to improve the overall functioning & well-being of participants in the Challengers Independent Living Programs. The staff encourages self sufficiency through life-skills workshops, career training, literacy and computer training, and clinical support.  Challengers Teen Parent Program (CTPP) resources are also extended to our foster-care mothers' non-committed child/children and to the childs' biological father.

CHALLENGERS HEADQUARTERS

The Challengers HQ office is located on Rolling Road in Windsor Mill, Maryland and employs a staff of 26.  The staff consists of clinicians, social workers/case managers, program directors, team leads and a talented group of on-location team members who report regularly at Challengers HQ to discuss the systematic landscape, processes, youth needs, and progress of the various Challengers Programs.  Challengers works directly with government officials and staff within Maryland's foster care system and is held to the same standards, protocols and legal guidelines as imposed & regulated by the State of Maryland.
